The views from the “downtown” area remind this westerner of what it was like to browse the Internet in 2000 with a pop-up blocker.. Love the journalism that going on here.

Akihabara is a living breathing billboard. Imagine taking your junk mail and all of your internet pop ups, multiply by 100, and drop it onto a city frame. The result would be something quite similar to Akihabara.
